R.I.P Lyn Lyn lives in our hearts. Always remembered 8 years she battled and she never surrendered She was a friend, a lover, and a mom We may not see her but she’s definitely not gone She’s still here with us. Her spirit and soul We can’t change what’s happened it’s out of our control All we can do now is never forget Think of her and smile, don’t get upset She would want us to cherish the life that she’s had Keep the memories, without getting sad Lyn was a mom to 6 kids that she loved with her heart They’ll be loved to the end and have been since the start But even to others, she treated them as her own Always stayed positive she would never just moan She even done oranges for the whole football team Maybe one day we’ll wake up and this will all just be a dream Lyn could put a smile on anyones face At least now, she’s in a peaceful place She was a great role model that we could all follow And this horrible shock is a bitter pill to swallow But when you think of this special lady just smile and grin And I speak for us all when I say, “rest in peace Lyn” By Matt Windle © Birmingham Young Poet Laureate 2007-2008
